There is no change to the European tour itinerary which is slated to start August 6th in Turin.

U2's Bono has now been discharged from Ludwig Maximilians-University (LMU) Hospital in Munich where he underwent emergency surgery on Friday, following a back injury. In order to fully recover, he is under doctor's orders to start a rehabilitation program and to recuperate for at least eight weeks.

This will necessitate the postponement of 16 shows on the U2 360° Tour from Salt Lake City on June 3rd, through to New Jersey’s Meadowlands Stadium on July 19th including the two concerts scheduled at the Hippodrome de Montreal on July 16th and 17th.

Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt confirmed, “Bono suffered severe compression of the sciatic nerve.  On review of his MRI scan, I realized there was a serious tear in the ligament and a herniated disc, and that conservative treatment would not suffice. I recommended Bono have emergency spine surgery with Professor Tonn at Munich’s LMU University Hospital on Friday.”

Professor Tonn, who carried out the operation, added, “Bono was referred to me by Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt late last week with a sudden onset disease.  He was already in severe pain with partial paralysis in the lower leg.  The ligament surrounding the disc had an 8mm tear and during surgery we discovered fragments of the disc had traveled into the spinal canal.  This surgery was the only course of treatment for full recovery and to avoid further paralysis.  Bono is now much better, with complete recovery of his motor deficit.  The prognosis is excellent, but to obtain a sustainable result, he must now enter a period of rehabilitation."

Dr. Muller Wohlfahrt continued, "We are treating Bono as we would treat any of our athletes, and while the surgery has gone very well, the coming weeks are crucial for a return to full health.  In the next days, he will start a light rehabilitation program, with increasing intensity over the next 8 weeks.  In our experience, this is the minimum time."

U2's manager, Paul McGuinness, was also at the Hospital in Munich and said, "Our biggest and I believe best tour has been interrupted and we’re all devastated.  For a performer who lives to be on stage, this is more than a blow.  He feels robbed of the chance to do what he does best and feels like he has badly let down the band and their audience.  Which is of course nonsense.  His concerns about more than a million ticket buyers whose plans have been turned upside down, we all share, but the most important thing right now is that Bono make a full recovery.  We’re working as fast as we can with Live Nation to reschedule these dates.”

Jacques Aubé, Vice President and General Manager of evenko mentioned: “We understand the feeling of disappointment Montreal U2 fans are experiencing for not being able to witness this unbelievable concert this summer. However, we are pleased to announce that the 2 shows will be rescheduled for 2011 at  the Montreal Hippodrome. We encourage fans to keep their tickets as they will be honoured for the new dates. We wish Bono a complete and healthy recovery.”

We encourage fans to keep their tickets as they will be honoured for the new dates in 2011, to be announced shortly.

evenko and Live Nation are thrilled to welcome Rihanna on August 7 at the Bell Centre with her new tour: Last Girl On Earth.

Rihanna, in the midst of her 4th critically-acclaimed album release Rated R, a smash #1 single with “Rude Boy,” and a highly anticipated upcoming international tour, has confirmed dates for her 2010 North American tour, Last Girl On Earth.  The multi-platinum and Grammy award winning superstar, who recently broke a Billboard record with her current number one single “Rude Boy,” becoming the only female artist of the past decade to have six #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, will be joined by rising star Ke$ha, who will open all dates on tour.

“We’ve never done a tour to this capacity.  The production is unbelievable and the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. Visually and sonically it’s going to be a big step up from the last time. We just keep growing and this time it is a massive production that I cannot wait for,” said Rihanna in a recent interview with AOL.

A dynamic performer renowned for her cutting-edge stage looks and designs, Rihanna’s Last Girl On Earth promises to be a visual spectacle on a scale unlike anything she has accomplished in her already legendary career.

Released in November 2009, Rihanna’s fourth studio album Rated R debuted atop the Billboard R&B Albums chart at #1and was the biggest first-week Soundscan tally of Rihanna’s career. The eagerly anticipated album arrived to a chorus of acclaim from critics and fans alike. Rolling Stone raved “one of the best pop records of the year.” The Chicago Sun Times called it “by far the best, most layered and most heartfelt effort of the 21-year-old artist's career.” In its year-end recap, Entertainment Weekly named Rated R the Pop Album of the Year.

When buying a Rihanna Fan Club membership (35$), you get the opportunity to buy tickets before the public on-sale, on April 20th at 10am. Membership is available at www.evenko.ca.

evenko and Greenland are pleased to welcome CROWDED HOUSE at  the Metropolis on July 13. The band will be going on a world tour with their new album Intriguer that will be released in mid-June.

Originally consisting of a New Zealander, Neil Finn (vocals, guitar, keyboards), and two Australians, Paul Hester (drums) and Nick Seymour (bass), Crowded House formed in Melbourne in 1985. They first tasted global success with their massive 1987 hit ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’ and continued to have hits for almost a decade. The band produced four studio albums, the first two,  Crowded House (1986) and Temple of Low Men (1988) featuring just the founding trio. Neil’s brother Tim joined the band for the writing and recording of the third album Woodface (1991), but quit in late 1991. Tim was replaced by American multi-instrumentalist Mark Hart, who became a permanent member of Crowded House and played on their final studio album  Together Alone  (1993), and also on the new songs which featured on  Recurring Dream,  the best of Crowded House released in 1996. Their last album, Time on Earth was released on July 10, 2007 and the band performed at the St-Denis Theatre on August 12th, 2007.

evenko is thrilled to welcome the rock band, SCORPIONS, at the Bell Centre on June 26th.  The band, one of the most successful rock bands in the world, have hit another career milestone. Their new and final album, STING IN THE TAIL, released March 23, entered the Billboard Top 200 charts at #23, marking the band’s highest chart debut in over 20 years. The album also landed at #6 on the Rock Albums chart.

Sting In the Tail features the anthemic single “Raised On Rock,” which is #2 on the Classic Rock Mediabase chart and adds to their remarkable list of hits including “Rock Your Like A Hurricane,” “Wind of Change” and “No One Like You”. The album is a true return to the classic and unmistakable hard rock sound that has allowed the band to remain an influential and powerful force in rock music throughout their career.

The Scorpions -  KLAUS MEINE (vocals), MATTHIAS JABS (lead guitar), RUDOLF SCHENKER (guitar), JAMES KOTTAK (drums) and PAWEL MACIWODA (bass) - have also announced the dates for the North American leg of their “GET YOUR STING AND BLACKOUT” world tour in support of the new album. The German rockers will be celebrating 40+ years in music on this final outing--set to kick off June 18 in Holmdel, NJ--that will take them around the globe through 2012, with special guests supporting along the way, including Cinderella who will help jump-start the tour.

“Scorpions is a live band,“ asserts MEINE. “Totally, 200%, this band was always about live concerts. We always wanted to go on stage and play in front of our fans. From the very beginning, from the smallest clubs to the biggest arenas and stadiums around the world, the passion to be a live band has never changed.” And when asked why the band decided to retire after all these years together, SCHENKER stated, “We want to celebrate [with] a big party around the world.  We've had a really great career, coming out from Germany and showing people that rock can come out of Germany. I think we started as a gang built by friendship and musicality, and going and showing that the Germans can rock" (LiveDaily; 1-28-10).

With over 30 North American shows planned, the two-month summer tour will take the band, known worldwide for their mega, arena hard rock and over 100 million records sold, to such cities as Baltimore, MD, Jones Beach, NY, Toronto and Milwaukee. As they make their way west, they’ll stop in Albuquerque before hitting the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles July 29.

Scorpions have partnered with I Love All Access to offer a variety of VIP ticket packages, some of which include the chance to meet band members at their shows. For more details, go to www.iloveallaccess.com

LADY GAGA’S MONSTER BALL: OVERWHELMING SUCCESS!
New York - 3 shows sold out!
Los Angeles  – 2 shows sold out!
Toronto, Vancouver, San Jose & Boston – 2nd shows added!

evenko and Live Nation, the international tour promoter for Lady Gaga’s The Monster Ball tour presented by Virgin Mobile, are thrilled to welcome LADY GAGA at the  Bell Centre on June 28th. Once again, the superstar will start her North-American Tour in Montreal.

With Lady Gaga’s flair for the theatrical, combined with her innovative and creative spirit, The Monster Ball Tour promises to push the limits of the live concert experience, bringing fans a spectacle even more eye-popping than what they experienced before.

"It's still called Monster Ball, but it's more of a musical and less of a concert,” Lady Gaga said in a February interview with KIIS-FM’s Ryan Seacrest. “It has a New York theme, it's a story, and the story is that me and my friends are in New York and we're going to the Monster Ball, and we get lost."

Lady Gaga is touring in support of "The Fame Monster", which was released on November 18th, 2009. The album is the follow-up to 2008’s Grammy Award-winning album "The Fame", which spawned the No. 1 singles “Just Dance” and “Poker Face.” Combined, The Fame and The Fame Monster have sold 10 million albums worldwide, while Lady Gaga’s five singles, “Just Dance,” “Poker Face,” “Lovegame,” “Paparazzi,” and “Bad Romance,” have sold more than 30 million singles worldwide. The video for “Bad Romance” has racked up more than 125 million online views.  Lady Gaga recently premiered the video for her new single “Telephone,” featuring Beyoncé.

As sponsor of the North American Monster Ball Tour, Virgin Mobile customers will have access to presale tickets.  “We are excited to take our partnership with Lady Gaga and The Monster Ball Tour to another level,” said Bob Stohrer, VP of Marketing for Virgin Mobile USA. “We'll also build on our partnership around combating youth homelessness and continue to enhance the tour experience for fans and our customers.”  For details visit www.virginmobileusa.com

Multi-platinum rock band GREEN DAY will hit the road in August with support of AFI, and will take center stage at  Quai Jacques-Cartier (Old Port) on August 21st.

This is the second leg of the band’s critically acclaimed U.S. tour in support of their current gold-certified album "21st Century Breakdown", which won a 2010 Grammy Award for “Best Rock Album.”

Critics raved about the first leg of the 21st Century Breakdown tour, which launched in North America in July of 2009, before continuing on to Europe in the fall. “As if releasing a wave of energy that had been building up during their four-year hiatus from touring, Green Day poured all their heart and soul into a powerhouse two-hour set,” said Rolling Stone, while Spin noted that “the band's relationship with its audience is disarmingly real, a cross generational give-and-take that's as punk as any Gilman Street scroungers today.”

Released by Reprise Records on May 15th, 2009, "21st Century Breakdown" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, as well as on the Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative charts. The album has spawned two hit singles, Know Your Enemy, which has been certified gold, and the platinum-selling 21 Guns, whose video won three 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, including “Best Rock Video.” The band took home their second American Music Award for “Favorite Alternative Music Artist” in November.

Green Day, which is singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool, are also gearing up for the Broadway premiere of American Idiot — the critically acclaimed stage version of Green Day’s chart-topping 2004 album.  Directed by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening), who collaborated on the story with Armstrong, the show opens at the St. James Theatre on April 20th.

On July 18, 2009, the band delivered one their most electrifying performances ever at the Bell Centre.
